Carter is never one to boast or brag. . . So I will do it for him . . . .
Jim's Boat is the easily the fastest Boat on Buckeye Lake.

Jim is the technician, owner, and driver of this well tuned machine.
Carter is just cruisin along at   over 130 mph   in this picture.

Jim Carter's E-mail address says it all    outboardman @ yahoo.com

Jim rebuilt, repaired, and rigged this 18' STV. (the boat was all busted up when he got it)
He built the engine with patience, parts from all over the world, some cash, and a lot of
technical knowledge.

The boat is capable of 150mph or more, (laughin) if you can drive it.

The engine @ 350 pounds, is a    Johnson Racing Formula One,   over 400 HP@ 10,000 RPM
3.5 liter V-8, 2-stroke cross-flow, with Eight 2-barrel carbs, running 126 octane racing gas.
A 24 volt starter spins the racing flywheel up to 800rpm, so it will start.  Idle speed is 1200rpm.
Behind the power head are Twin Exspansion Chambers that send the exhaust down to the
mid-section into the Tuned Exhaust Megaphones, and out threw the oversized exhaust outlet.
Add   hydraulic Quick Trim In/Out,    and a hydraulic main pin for   Trim Up/Down.
The lower unit is a 1:1 ratio race-master, with a cute little razor-sharp 3 blade cleaver propeller.

The Orange boat @ 390 pounds, is a    modified Summerford river racing Tunnel Vee.
also known as a  'MOD VP'  or  'Pro Comp Race Boat'.   Carter calls it the "orange boat".

Equipment includes stainless steel cable steering with Nykisil racing hardware, plastic pulleys,
aluminum steering wings, steering wheel with 4 trim buttons, fiberglass seat, a Gas Pedal,
and yes, it has an    Off / On / Start switch.
The Black Vinyl cover in the back hides 2 gel-cell starting batteries, large aluminum gas tank,
two hydraulic pumps for the trim, relays for the trim pumps, fuel pump, and fuel filter.
It also has a Paddle, so you can back-up . . No shifter, neutral or reverse gear in this boat.
I noticed a "Panic Button" on the dash, but it wasn't hooked up to anything...mmmmmm
The Boat Proudly displays 2 Buckeye Lake stickers, and the name Jim Carter's Marine
